Merry Christmas beauties! Thank you for all of your kind support throughout this year. Whenever you’re in the world I hope you’re having a wonderful time with your friends and family! And, before we all submerge into a Christmas related food coma and Boxing Day sales frenzy (see awesome deals here, here and here), I’d like to show you these cute Santa Koala Christmas nails.
Koala is my favourite Australian animal and since this year we’re celebrating Christmas in tropics (again) I thought instead of traditional festive manicures, I’d try to create something new that is more relevant to our country. Hence, Santa Koala nails!
In this nail design I combined negative space with hand-painted Santa Koalas and eucalyptus leaves (with koalas hiding behind them) pattern to make this manicure even more light and summer-y.
If you’d like to try this cute Christmas nails idea, it is quite easy, if you’re friends with your nail art brush ;)
HOW TO: Apply two coats of your favorite nail strengthener. Then with a grey, red and green polish, using a detailing nail art brush paint silhouettes of koalas, hats and eucalyptus leaves, as pictured, on each nail. Then using a striping nail art brush add black outlines and with a dotting tool and white polish – add white details on hats and koala eyes (this koala nails tutorial can be handy). Wait a few minutes and seal it all with a quick drying glossy top coat. Done! Proceed to celebrating with some eucalyptus champagne!
Used: OPI What’s Your Point-Settia (red) and Cement The Deal (grey), Essie Blanc (white) and Raffles & Feathers (green), Sea Siren Midnight Moves (black) and Essie Good To Go top coat.
So, how do you you like these cute Christmas nails with Santa Koalas? And what’s on your nails this Christmas?
– Maria, xx
