Some people are so lucky that they get to celebrate Christmas twice! And well, I’m one of them :) Due to discrepancies in the Gregorian and the Julian calendars, Orthodox Christmas is celebrated on the 7th of January. It’s more of a religious celebration than anything else. There are no presents or shopping frenzies, there’s an all night long church service starting at 11pm on 6th and finishing about 4am and then a feast on the day of the 7th.
You’ve already seen my 25th of December Christmas nails and of course, to celebrate Orthodox Christmas in a uniquely SoNailicious way I’ve also created this manicure.
This red and green nail design is entirely hand-painted. Being on holidays means I have more time for freehand experiments and practicing my line work. Speaking of which, I can’t wait to finally launch our YouTube channel! I’ll be showing you how to do the best freehand manicures. We’ve already filmed a few tutorials and now working hard on the editing, so it won’t be long.
Used: OPI Just Beclaus (wine red) and Amazon… Amazoff (green), Cirque Colours Reflektor and Orly In A Snap top coat and Essie Matte About You matte top coat.
Wearing: Spikes Ring.
So, what do you think of these Orthodox Christmas Nails? And which version do you prefer – matte or glossy?
– Maria, xx
