You may have noticed I’m a huge fan of edgy and minimalist nail designs with a twist. So when deciding on a design to farewell 2015, I created a sleek semi-sheer nude manicure with black half moons and rose gold studs. Hence, the name for these New Year’s Eve nails – ‘Embellished Nude’.
The initial idea was to have just one stud in each half moon detail but as I placed the first one, the smaller second one was just asking to be there. So be it! With two rose gold studs the nail design looked more balanced, finished and also more evening like! It was the perfect finishing touch for my NYE outfit and complimented my minimalist New Year’s Eve makeup. Just like the makeup, these New Years Eve nails were also ultra-quick to do.
HOW-TO: The design was completely hand painted using this nail art brush. If you need step-by-step directions or want to know how to do it using French Manicure stencils, follow this half moon manicure tutorial. Once you’ve done the black half moon details, place the metal studs and secure it all with a quick dry top coat. Easy, right?
Used:
- Orly Nailtrition base
- OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy
- Sea Siren Midnight Moves (black)
- Orly Polishield top coat.
- SN Needle nail art brush
- Round metal studs
Wearing: Gunmetal Knuckle Ring.
Finally, there is something else I’d like to say….
HAPPY NEW YEAR NAIL ART WARRIORS! Hope you had a fabulous one with your family or friends. Wishing you all of your dreams, big or small, come true in 2016. 2015 was a good year, but I feel like 2016 is going to be amazing! I’m so excited and grateful to share another year of my journey with you!
