As some of you may know, we spent last Sunday at the Sydney International Spa and Beauty Expo 2013. This is Australia’s largest event for the spa and beauty salon industries. We, of course, were focused on the nail side of things and it didn’t disappoint! This event is not only for salon owners and beauty industry professionals, but also for the general public who are interested in beauty and nails. There was the whole sector dedicated to nails. New nail polish brands and all nail the art supplies you can imagine. Plus the most recent polish collections, treatments, tools, brushes… EVERYTHING! Additionally, most of the brands were offering amazing Expo-special prices. For instance, you could get 3 full size bottles of ORLY polish for only $25 (usual RRP $19.95 per bottle).
You could also buy nail polish brands that aren’t readily available in retail stores or are difficult to find in Australia. Fantastic US brands like Jessica and Young Nails, as well as Japaneese Magelic and the Singaporean brand Jacqueline Burchell. The latter had it’s official launch in Australia on the first day of the Expo and we can’t wait to tell you more about this newcomer to the Australian nail scene!
On top of that, right there at the Spa and Beauty Expo you could try most of the treatments, get your nails done by the leading manicurists from all around the world, check out surreal nail designs created for the Manifest Nail Award and attend educational sessions. Considering Australia is so far away from the rest of the world, the Expo is an opportunity not to miss. Where else can you see Jane Iredale teaching make-up application or hear Jeff Pink, founder of ORLY talking about invention of the French manicure?
