I’m kicking off the first Nail Art Fashion Week with these Kenzo inspired nails. As you know, Day 1 was about creating a manicure inspired by your favorite fashion designer (download the schedule here if you haven’t already). As a fashion obsessed person, it is almost impossible to choose one favorite designer, just like I can’t name just one favorite nail polish brand. I love at least 15 designers, each for a different reason. For instance, I love Chanel because for their timeless classical style, McQueen for their constantly surprising & ethereal designs, Valentino for their feminine silhouettes and Celine for their minimal cutting edge designs.
But today my choice goes to Kenzo. If you’ve been following SoNailicious for a while you may remember these Kenzo Eye Nails. This pretty much explains why I choose Kenzo today again. House of Kenzo is famous for their quirky prints and bright colours. As soon as I saw the new Kenzo Fall 2015 collection, which was showcased in Paris just 1 day ago, the fate of my first NAFW2015 manicure was determined. The tough part was choosing a look as their collection is bursting with nailspirational patterns.
These Kenzo nails were done freehand so you need a detailing brush and some nail art skills for this design.
To get the look: First paint the white base, add yellow details with dark yellow accents to replicate the pattern and then add the black spots. Let your manicure dry for a few minutes and seal it with a high gloss top coat.
Used: Essie Blanc (my favorite snow white polish!), Maybelline Fierce Tangy (yellow), Essie Licorice (black), Sally Hansen Diamond Flash top coat and RuNail brush.
What do you think about these Kenzo nails? Have you done fashion designer inspired nails before? If so, who was your inspiration?
