These rainbow candy nails were inspired by the Ulta3 Candy Cane Paradise range polishes. As soon as I unwrapped the Candy Cane and saw the lovely 10 polishes it was filled with, I wanted to try them all. But instead of swatching them I thought of creating a nail art design to incorporate as many of these nail polishes at once as possible. So the rainbow candy nails were born!
Plus, its summer in Australia and these nails would compliment any summer outfit!
These pretty nails are quite easy to recreate but there are a few tricks to learn in order to do it flawlessly.
1. Apply two coats of white nail polish on each nail. Let them dry.NOTE: For this type of nail art (tape manicure) it’s important to let the nail polish to dry properly. Make sure they’re absolutely, completely dry!
2. Cut sticky tape in narrow strips. Some strips should be slightly wider than others (you can also use special nail art stripes if you have them). Place the sticky tape stripes diagonally across each nail as pictured. Paint the gaps between the tape with your desired colours.
3. Before the rainbow stripes dry completely, remove the sticky tape.
4. Apply a fast dry top coat and let it dry.
Used: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a base and rainbow stripes – Sea Breeze Swirl (green), Tangerine Tango (orange), Pink Hibiscus, Exotic Canary from Ulta3 Candy Cane Paradise range (available at selected pharmacies and Target stores, RRP$12.95 for 10 polishes).
So what do you think about Rainbow Candy nails? Have you done something like that before or will you be trying them sometime soon?
