If you’re anything like me, you love discovering and trying new nail polishes. In terms of that The Emirates is paradise for a nail polish connoisseur. Literally, you can find every brand imaginable there! All colours, including the limited edition and even from the past collections.
That’s where I’ve finally found Dolce & Gabbana nail polish. I’ve been coveting it since it’s inception in 2015. I’m a massive fan of Dolce & Gabbana designs and seeing them launching their own beauty line was a dream come true. Sadly Dolce & Gabbana Beauty didn’t launch in Australia… So I’m quite happy that I’ve had a chance to try D&G Beauty during my trip to Abu Dhabi and even brought back a little souvenirĀ – Dolce & Gabbana Intense Nail Lacquer in Turquoise.
Why just one? Because first of all, it’s expensive and it’s even more expensive in the Emirates. About 40% over the usual price! My agenda was to get as many rare polishes as possible, so I had to spread my modest shopping budget across a few different brands.
Now, looking back I really wish I got more of Dolce & Gabbana nail polish. Mainly because now I know that their formula is superb! Plus, the colour range is fantastic (peruse all the colours here and here). Out of all luxury nail polish ranges – Dolce & Gabbana is by far the brightest and funkiest! They also have tons of different finishes and special effect lacquers. Well, next time I’m in the UAE I know what to spend my polish budget on ;)
Ok, let’s move onto our Dolce & Gabbana nail polish review… I’ve already given it away that I’m totally in love with the brand, but still, it’s worth to find out all the juicy details… So read on!
REVIEW:
Formula: a very glossy creme, 5-free, fast drying and long-lasting. The polish is highly pigmented, youāll need 2 thin layers to get flawless, fully opaque coverage.
Application: the polish goes on smoothly without any issues, it’s thick rounded wide brush enables a smooth, flawless application. By far, D&G brush is the most convenient to use!
Finish/Colour: Dolce & Gabbana Turquoise is a limited edition colour from Summer in Italy 2016 collection (told you, you can find anything in Abu Dhabi!). It’s a classic creme polish. As for the colour, even though, it’s called Turquoise this lacquer is more like a light bright teal with lots of green in it. It reminds me of the colour of the Mediterranean sea (closer to the horizon) in Italy.
Nail Art: the polish is highly pigmented and is suitable for any kind of nail art.
Dupes: I could not identify any dupes but you certainly can find a few similar colours, like Chanel Mediterranee, for instance.
Wearability: very long-lasting, 6 days with a top coat without any signs of wear.
Extra Notes: the packaging is so luxurious! The golden lid and the shape of the bottle are pure perfection. One can only dream to have a row of these bright bottles standing on their vanity table or nail polish display.
Overall Impression: I can’t speak highly enough of this polish. The packaging, the formula, the colour… every aspect of Dolce & Gabbana nail polishes is just perfect. So if you can… you totally should!
Where to buy: online US $27 – here, £21.00 ā here, AUD $38 – here.
