We’re quite excited to show you the Jacqueline Burchell ombre black nails kit in action today! It’s not your usual kit because it contains nail polishes in 3 different finishes – cremes, glitters and holos. As you know, usually kits like that only include opaque shades in the same colour range. Plus, the quality of the Jacqueline Burchell polishes is fantastic, not to mention great packaging and thoughtful shock-proof box the polishes sit in.
Jacqueline Burchell is a relatively new professional nail polish brand that we discovered at the Sydney Spa & Beauty Expo. They officially launched in Australia on the first day of the expo. They were founded 3 1/2 years ago in Singapore and today offer one of the largest colour ranges out there with over 1000 colours!
Have a look at these black/silver beauties from the kit and hopefully we’ll show you some more Jacqueline Burchell shades soon. They’re really worth your attention! For the technical details, check out our review below.
Set includes: 5 mini nail polishes (5ml – 0.17 oz.) in light silver glitter – Make Me Smile, silver holo – Melrin’s Beard, dark silver holo – Strutting It Off, almost black glitter – Meteor Shower and black opaque shades – Black As Ever.
Formula: Easy to apply, fast-drying 3-Free formula that goes on nails flawlessly.
Brush: Too short, even for a mini nail polish. It would be much easier to use if it was a bit longer.
Application: Fast drying, glitters and holos require 3 coats for a full coverage. For opaque, 1 coat is enough.
Finish: the kit includes polishes in 3 different finishes – 2 holographic shades (silver and dark grey), 1 opaque cream (black) and 2 high density glitters (silver and almost black).
Wearability: the dark grey holo shade, Strutting It Off LK012 (middle finger) chipped on the next day. The other shades lasted 3 days without chipping.
Nail Art: Ombre nails or just use the polishes for any nail art you like. Use them separately or combine shades from the kit.
Overall Impression: If you love silver or black nails, this kit is a must have. It’s a bit pricey but, you’re getting 5 great quality nail polishes and variety of shades. So it’s not just one nail design you’ll create with this kit but at least 25 (check out our black nail design ideas). The short brush is a bit disappointing but it’s a mini version so there are other advantages – easy for travel and easy to store.
Availability: the Black Nails Ombre Kit – RRP $50, exclusively via selected nail salons in the USA, Singapore and now Australia.
Have you tried any of the Jacqueline Burchell nail polishes before? How do you like the black nails we did with the shades form the kit? Which shade from the kit is your favorite?
