She has the most most enviable strong and perfectly shaped nails imaginable. She is also the founder of one of the most popular Australian indie brands, Arcane Lacquer. NAIL POLISH FAVORITES:
Nail care product you can’t live without?
Ooohhh tough choice because of course I ‘need’ them ALL, but I’d have to days Duri Rejuvacote. If I’m going naked then there always has to be a coat of Duri on them to protect them.
The best nail care tip?
Vitamins, Vitamins, Vitamins. My nails have never been so good since I started taking Swisse Hair, Skin & Nails Vitamins over a year and half ago. They grow like wild fire and I rarely get breaks (knock on wood), oh any they have done wonders for my hair as well. Only downside is you’ll be needing regularly haircuts! Also regularly filing of your nails promotes growth and healthy growth at that.
Favourite nail polish brand?
I used to say OPI but recently I’ve become bored with them bringing out so many similar shades. So China Glaze (1).
Favourite indie polish brand?
Femme Fatale Cosmetics (4).
Which brand has the best formula?
Chanel! But for affordability I’d say China Glaze, they rarely miss the mark.
Favourite colour combinations?
Anything with black (2 & 3) in it, haha. I own far too many black based polishes!
Favorite nail art pattern?
I love to do pigment nails, most people haven’t heard of it before but it’s something different. I recently did a tutorial for Lacquerheads of Oz which has proved to be a big hit. Lots of girls have been tagging me on their blogs and Instagram accounts showing me their versions, I love it!
What’s your best tip for painting your other hand?
Patience, slowly as she goes; it’s not a race. Actually this is a tip for painting either hand, I’m a big believer in 3 thin coats rather than 2 normal ones. It allows the polish to dry better and also is a great technique for when using indies. You will also find that if you go a little slower you will require less clean up when you done.
How do you get inspired for your nail art?
I find I get my inspiration from Instagram and blogs or usually just from my own head. I’ll randomly get an idea then it will bug me until I try it.
