The SoNailicious Beauty Expo 2016 nail art workshops were a dream come true. One of the reasons I started SoNailicious.com was because I enjoy sharing my knowledge. But when you get to meet other talented nail artists from all around Australia and even New Zealand to demonstrate and teach new nail art techniques in real life, it’s the whole new level and an incredibly fulfilling experience!
Here’s some great photos by Joseph Pole and Katie Cerff that illustrate what was happening at the SoNailicious Beauty Expo masterclasses…
For the last 5 years nail art became more than just a job for me, it is a part of my life. I’ve done plenty of editorial work, celebrity manicures and even developed my own nail art techniques. I have accumulated a great wealth of knowledge and it was fantastic to join the educator’s team of the Beauty Expo Australia and share my favourite techniques and designs with other nail artists. At the Expo I’ve taught the latest nail art trends on the 1st day and the 4 different natural stone techniques on the 2nd day. Most of the techniques that I’ve shown are suitable for both gel and polish.
Like all SoNailicious nail art workshops our Expo sessions were hands-on with lots of information to take in. Rather than just tutoring something from a high chair, I wanted everyone to feel welcome and have fun while learning the new designs. I also wanted to ensure each attendee gets a good grip of the new techniques and a great understanding on how to incorporate these new designs into their nail art routines. How these designs can be adjusted to suit for a salon, session work or a DIY nail art at home. As always I’ve tried my best to show as much as I could during the 1,5 hours.
Another fantastic thing, our collaboration with such a well respected international brand as Mavala. I always strive to deliver the best for every SoNailicious event and Mavala Australia made this so easy for us. Their top quality, toxin-free, cruelty-free and high-performing products were a treat to work with. Mavala provided all nail polishes and an extensive range of nail care products for us to work with on the day.
Plus, to my greatest surprise, they supplied very generous goodie bags! Every attendee took home $160 worth of Mavala goodies. Even more, Mavala supplied a prize for a giveaway for the SoNailicious readers too. How awesome is that? Stay tuned, all will be revealed next week!
I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. Excellent venue, the fabulous atmosphere, great sponsor, talented and eager to learn audience!
It’s been my 3rd year teaching nail art and it seems that so far our events are getting better and better. The next step is to make my lessons accessible to more people. I know for many of you travelling to Sydney or Australia for a nail art masterclass is not an option. I do share plenty of nail art tutorials here on SoNailicious and have even started making video tutorials but advanced nail art workshops focused on certain techniques is a very different thing. So making the SoNailicious masterclasses accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world is something I need to think about. If you have any ideas, feel free to comment below or email me directly at editor @ sonailicious.com.
For now, I’m going to wrap up by saying once again a huge thanks to everyone who attended & do stay in touch. Special thanks to Elli & team Beauty Expo for the fantastic event, to the super nail art warriors Katie and Joseph for helping with everything and Debbie for her next level coordination skills. Also, another shout out to Remi & team Mavala Australia for their support of the nail art community!
By the way, we’ve already started planning for our next event. It will be in Sydney and Melbourne, standby for details.
Make sure you sign up to our email list so you can be the very first to know when we launch it!
Hope to see you soon!
