For Day 3 of Nail Art Fashion Week the goal was to create nail art inspired by a bag or bag designer. I felt inspired by the Dior bag from Fall 2015 collection with an unusual combination of autumn colours that were just waiting translated into nail art. Like yesterday’s Sophia Webster Watermelon nails, I think these Abstract Print nails also have a future beyond this challenge. The print is very wearable and can be done in a variety of colours without loosing it’s original retro-like vibe. For instance, gold, black and milk white or teal, oxblood and sand nude combos would work really well.
To get the look: first paint the nude base. Then using a striping nail art brush, outline the boarders of your pattern with mustard yellow polish. Fill in the areas as per the pattern. Then add the black details and seal it all with 2-3 coats of a glossy top coat. By the way, this nail design would also look great mattified.
Used: OPI My Vampire Is Buff (base), Bio Sculpture #140 (mustard) and #2017 (black), Essie Good To Go top coat and striping RuNail brush.
So, how do you like these Dior Abstract Print nails? Are you enjoying the challenge so far?
