Chanel has jumped on the chrome nails bandwagon and released a stunning new dark silver polish – Chanel Liquid Mirror. It’s is one of three limited edition 2016 Fall nail colours which I’ve been eagerly waiting for ever since I wrote this post. When I saw them for the first time it was Chanel Liquid Mirror. that appealed to me the most. The beautiful iridescent pink Chanel Hyperrose Glass and the delicate matte nude Chanel Pink Rubber don’t quite suit my skin tone. If you have a fair complexion, they will look fabulous on you otherwise, just go for Liquid Mirror.
This pearlescent dark silver nail polish looks very flattering, is super easy to apply and is surprisingly long-lasting. In short, it’s a fantastic new Chanel colour to add to your collection. For the full rundown, read our review below!
REVIEW:
Formula: Chanel Liquid Mirror has the new generation Chanel Gel polish formula which is very glossy, fast drying and long-lasting. It’s 5-free and cruelty free. The polish is very pigmented, it took me only 2 layers to get fully opaque coverage.
Application: like all silver chrome polishes, Chanel Liquid Mirror requires some skill to apply flawlessly. Make sure the surface of your nails is perfectly smooth (here’s how to do it) to ensure the polish doesn’t amplify any imperfections.
Finish/Colour: Chanel Liquid Mirror is a pearlescent dark silver with subtle green-ish undertone. It looks like bright silver chrome in direct light and dark silver in the shade.
Nail Art: The polish is very well pigmented and is suitable for any kind of nail art. It would look particularly fabulous mattified.
Dupes: there are no dupes for Chanel Liquid Mirror, at least not in my collection. It’s close to the duochrome Chanel Sweet Star but definitely not the same. Refer to photo below for a closer examination.
Wearability: Very long-lasting, it lasted 5 days (yep, 5) without a top coat.
Extra Notes: The Chanel brush is back! You may remember about my disappointment about the Chanel brushes from this post, so it’s great to see the good brush is back.
Overall Impression: I loved every aspect of this polish and it suits almost any skin tone. If you’re a fan of Chanel polishes, this is a must-have.
Availability: $28 here, here and here, in Australia $41 here, or via Chanel beauty counters.
Have you tried any of the new Chanels yet? How do you like Liquid Mirror?
