Fashion week season is upon us! That means I’ll be bringing you the scoop on the best nail art from the runways of New York. The Fall 2015 season was a bliss, it started slowly with the usual nudes and blacks and evolved into full on nail art action.
The big stand outs were the works of CND’s Jan Arnold and Casey Herman for China Glaze. Also cudos to Madeline Poole for staying true to herself and creating some fabulous geometric nail art for Cushnie et Ochs and to Essie’s Michelle Saunders for introducing the good old chevron manicure to the fashion folks.
Given that designers are usually hesitant to use nail art (some out of fear of drawing attention away from clothes), it’s remarkable these world-class manicurists can find a compromise between their creativity and designer’s limits. Choosing a nail colour for each show is a long process, Ali Magliveras, Essie Australia Ambassador said to me backstage last year at MBFWA “It may take weeks to settle on the colour…” That’s just the colour so imagine how long it takes to decide on nail art?
Now, let’s enjoy some of the best nail art from NYFW Fall 2015:
