The Annual Golden Globe Awards is one the most glamorous events of the year. A-list celebrities with all their dreamy gowns, flawless make-up and perfect hair… A fair bit of inspiration can be taken from watching these shows. I’ve always said fashion is one of the best sources for nail inspiration and big award ceremonies are even better in that sense because only the best dresses make it to the red carpet. Then we just need to call on our inner muse to help us translate the patterns and colours into nail art.
Here are our 6 best Golden Globes dresses that are totally nail art worthy:
1. Rashida Jones‘ gown with gold palms over white soft white. Yes please, that’s a perfect pattern for a glam beach nail art. White nails still rock after all. Used: Orly White Tips and custom mix of OPI Oy-Another Polish Joke and Orly Luxe.
2. Mila Kunis mega shiny gown was an easy one. A gunmetal glitter gradient! Used: Orly Harmonious Mess and Orly Atomic Splash.
3. Taylor Swift‘s elegant yet striking gown in pink and black gets translated into geometric pattern nail art. Used: OPI My Vampire is Buff, Essie Fiesta and Orly Vinyl.
4. Sandra Bullock. While some may consider her as one of the worst dressed, for the purposes of nail art inspiration her gown is perfect. We converted it into an easy double chevron manicure. Used: Bio Sculpture 134, Dance Legend 341 and Orly Vinyl.
5. Lizzy Caplan‘s stunning black gown with cut out gold details becomes a negative space art deco manicure. Used: Orly Vinyl and Orly Luxe (gold).
6. Julianna Margulies classic black gown with coral like gold ornaments translates into classic black nails with free hand gold ornaments. If painting corals is too difficult, paint little gold branches with leaves instead. Used: Orly Vinyl and Orly Luxe (gold).
