Dior Cosmopolite is without doubt the most coveted Fall 2015 nail polish collection. Sorry Chanel, but Dior outdid you this time. A stunning palette of 5 new limited edition colours that are very different from Dior’s traditional classic shades of red, pink and nude. It must be something to do with the fact that for the first time, the colour collection was created by Peter Phillips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup. The entire Dior Fall 2015 makeup collection is much darker and moodier than usual, with luxurious metallic accents and core colours such as elegant mauve, khaki, silver and royal blue.
It is rare for me to covet an entire collection, but that’s the case with Dior Cosmopolite. The must-haves for this season are the new nail colours, also the new concealer and eye shadows, creme blushes and lipsticks. Well, maybe you’ll want to cull that list a little but to me the novelty colours, textures and formulas of Dior Cosmopolite are all incredibly appealing. Now let’s leave my hedonistic beauty dreams and come back to reality, i.e. polishes.
The new Dior Fall 2015 nail polish collection includes 5 limited edition colours:
- Cosmopolite 785 – bold mauve creme
- Miroir 001 – chrome silver metallic
- Metropolis 701 – dark green-ish grey creme
- Darling Blue 791 – warn royal blue shimmer
- Black Out 982 – sparkling black creme
Cosmopolite, Metropolis and Black Out are more than just typical cremes. Their formulation contains extra fine shimmer, that makes them extra glossy with tiny sparkles on the surface without actually seeing any shimmer. This extra fine shimmer makes the creme polishes appear deeper, richer and more vibrant in colour.
They are also treat to apply – fully opaque and glossy with just 2 coats. The pictured swatches are without a top coat. The formula is enriched with organic silicon and does not include toluene, formaldehyde, phthalates or camphor.
Availability: on shelf now – here and here $27 per bottle. These polishes are limited edition, so don’t think for too long! In Australia most of the shades are already sold out.
