YSL Fur Green is one of the two new limited edition polishes from the YSL Scandal Fall collection. Ever since I wrote this post I’ve been on the hunt for this collection but all I could find is Fur Green. There you go, one of the cons of living down under! We have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world but when it comes to the freshest beauty (and fashion) collections, we’re somewhat behind.
Case in point, we didn’t get YSL Vintage Plum at all. I was advised by retail assistants at Australia’s most extensive beauty counters in the Sydney CBD only to be told YSL Vintage Plum has never been sold in Australia. When I reached out to YSL’s PR in Australia, the answer was – they have no information about the Fall 2016 makeup collection. Interestingly enough, I later found all the info I was looking for online.
Moral of the story: if you live in the US, Europe or any other beauty-forward region, use the opportunity to obtain YSL Vintage Plum and Fur Green. Both colours are available here and here. Plus, YSL Beauty now have a 20% off special! If you live in Australia, grab Fur Green. Apparently I bought the last one in the Sydney CBD but hopefully some other YSL beauty counters may still have it. It’s worth tracking down
Review and swatches, as always below…
REVIEW:
Formula: very glossy, highly pigmented and fast drying formulation. 5-free and you only need 2 thin coats to get full opacity.
Application: the signature YSL flat rounded brush is still included so it’s very easy to apply.
Finish/Colour: a warm, muted dark teal creme.
Nail Art: very easy to work with and suitable for nail art.
Dupes: there are no dupes. The closest colour in my collection is Sea Siren Seaweed but it’s noticeably darker and greener than Fur Green.
Wearability: So far I’ve been wearing it for 2 days with a top coat. Based on my other YSL experiences, I’m sure this one is long-lasting too. Usually YSL polishes last around 5-6 days without chipping.
Extra Notes: I was a bit cautious about this polish because dark teal and green polishes can stain your nails badly. However, YSL Fur Green didn’t leave the slightest stain after removal. Great!
Overall Impression: If you like teal and dark manicures in general, YSL Fur Green is for you. It’s probably one of the most elegant green polishes ever made. The colour is bright and makes a statement yet it’s stylish too. Incidentally, it’s inspired by the signature YSL green fur coat. Additionally, it has a flawless formula and comes in beautiful packaging. Remember, it’s limited edition, so act fast!
Availability: now here, here and here US $28. In Australia – $42 via YSL beauty counters or here.
So, have you already purchased YSL Fur Green? How do you like the colour?
– Maria, xx
