Meet Eva, a 19-year old education student from Denmark who creates some of the most beautiful and unusual nail art you can find online. Nail art is just one of her many interests and she has just as many blogs! CoewlessPolish Blog started in March 2010 and Eva posts only twice a week and only when she has exceptional nail art with great photos to show. And her nail art is exceptional! Check out the pics and you’ll see what we mean! Find out more about this multi-talented nail art practitioner in our interview below!
Why nails?
I feel like it’s a fun way to be creative and express my style. I am a person that doesn’t wear accessories; instead I accessorize with my nails, and make them match my personality and style. I really like the fact that your nails can spice up an outfit, and I love how they are small canvasses that can be turned into something extremely beautiful!
Nail care product you can’t live without?
When I started doing my nails, they were in really bad shape, and peeled really badly, and the product that helped my nails become what they are today is Herôme nail hardener. I still use it to this day as my base coat, because I don’t want my nails to go back to how they were. (It’s not a product that works on everybody, but it worked wonders for me) Also, I can’t live without my Lush Lemony Flutter. Gotta keep those cuticles looking good!
The best nail care tip?
Moisturizing! Definitely. Your hands and nails need moisture, so I would say use a good hand or cuticle cream whenever you feel your hands need it. Also after using nail polish remover or acetone, because it dries out the skin around the cuticles. So moisturize! I ALWAYS moisturize my hands before bed, and I like to do it a couple of times in a day. I hate dry hands and dry cuticles!
NAIL POLISH FAVORITES:
Favourite nail polish brand?
It’s hard to pick just one, cause there’s so many I like! But a few of my faves are Opi, Essie (1), China Glaze and IsaDora (A Swedish brand)
Favourite indie polish brand?
I only actually have indie polishes from one brand, and that is Lush Lacquer. They are the indie brand that appeals most to me. Their glitters are definitely the prettiest, I think. I also love Emilie De Molly, but I’m yet to try their polishes!
Favorite luxe brand?
I love my Chanel polishes.. and my YSL (2)!
Which brand has the best formula?
Again, this is a very hard question, because so many brands have amazing formulas. I really like OPI (4), China Glaze and Essie.
Which brand has the best brush?
IsaDora (3), hands down. I love their wide brushes. They fit perfectly for my nails!
NAIL ART:
Favourite colour combinations?
I love teal and gold together, even though I have never done that combination myself. I also love the classic black/white combination. It looks so great.
Favorite pattern/nail art?
My favorite kind of nail art is definitely tribal/aztec nails. It’s so detailed and fun to do, and there is so many different possibilities when doing tribal/aztec nails (2)! I also love galaxy nails (4)!
What’s your best tip for painting your other hand?
Lay your hand on a flat surface, make sure to give yourself the time to paint, (don’t rush it, cause it won’t be pretty!) and just practice. That’s really all I can say. Practice makes better ;D
As far as painting nail art on your other hand.. don’t do it. I don’t. I usually leave my other hand blank or do stamping on it. It’s simply too hard to paint a detailed design on the other hand. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to nails, so if I know it won’t look pretty, I won’t do it.
The funniest/the most adventurous nail art you have ever created?
This is a hard question. I think it must be my most time consuming manicures. I love doing really detailed work that takes a long time. I love really getting in to that “zone” where it’s all about perfecting. I don’t know what has been the most adventurous or the funniest. I really like my ugly flamingo sweater nails, where I used 3D “googley” eyes (1). They were a lot of fun to think up, they were fun to make and they certainly were fun to wear.
Favourite nail art trend?
Again hard question! I really like when people think out of the box and create something brand new and unique (3), but I also really love seeing peoples different interpretations of a certain nail art trend. I really like the whole feather nails trend, not with real feathers, but hand drawn feathers. That seemed to be a big thing not too long ago, and I think that was just so pretty. I also like tribal nails (2), but I’m not sure if that is a trend or not. But if it’s not, it should be, because tribal nails rock!
