Today we’re thrilled to interview one of the most influential nail bloggers in the world! Sammy of The Nailasaurus! Sammy’s nail blog was featured in Glamour Beauty and MTV Style, just to name a couple. The now 21 year old from South Wales, UK, started her blog in April 2010. No wonder her blog quickly made it to the top with fantastic yet simple nail art ideas posted daily. For instance, Sammy was one of the first to create real feather nail art and even invented studded nails!
Regardless of all of her achievements, Sammy says she is a girl of limited means. So all the looks you see on her blog can be achieved on a modest budget. By the way, her favorite treat is chocolate cake!
Why nails?
I’ve always enjoyed painting my nails and when I discovered Konad nail art in late 2009, it quickly became an obsession.
How often do you paint your nails?
Every day. Sometimes more than once!
Nail care product you can’t live without?
A good strengthening base coat. I really like OPI Nail Envy and Sally Hansen’s Green Tea and Bamboo strengthener.
The best nail care tip?
Always use a base coat. Don’t use your nails as ‘tools’. For example opening drinks cans.

Barry M, W7 or Rimmel

A-England
Best budget brand?
I love it when I find great polishes in stores like Poundland. I’ve found loads of Sally Hansens and Revlons in there.
Which brand has the best formula?
I think Barry M is pretty much unbeatable on formula. Especially for the low price.

How do you get inspired for your nail art?
Everything around me offers a bit of inspiration. I might see a particular colour combination that I want to replicate or a pattern.
Favourite colour combinations?
Blue/Brown, Black/Gold, Purple/Grey. Under Lock and Key nails (1)
The funniest/most adventurous nail art you’ve ever created?
Guitar Hero (2)
What’s your best tip for painting your other hand?
Practice makes perfect. You can try keeping your non-dominant hand still and move your nails to the brush rather than trying to brush the polish on.
Favourite nail art trend?
Studded Nails (3). Since I kind of invented them (I think).
