Without a doubt, fashion provides some of the best nail art inspiration! When I saw the new Valentino Haute Couture collection, I couldn’t help creating a Valentino inspired manicure. The collection itself was inspired by Pre-Raphaelite paintings. So it’s somehow symbolic that the 19 century painting inspired fashion designers who in turn inspired us to paint nail art . The circle of art? Maybe…
Back to the nails. This black and white nail design was freehand-ed and is relatively easy and quick. Especially if you know how to use a nail brush. To get the look, first paint all nails in soft white colour, then paint the black leaf details and round french-manicure-like tips on all nails. Next add the gold details. Wait a few minutes for black details to dry and seal the deal with a high shine top coat.
If you attended our ‘Nail Stars’ class you should be able easily to re-create these Valentino nails! Remember the class on chevron French tips and palms? That’s exactly the same technique you need to paint these tips and leaf details.
Used: Orly Nailtrition as a base coat, Sea Siren Leucosia and Midnight Moves, Orly Luxe, Sally Hansen Diamond Flash top coat. Wearing Galisfly rings.
How do you like these Valentino nails? Have you done any fashion inspired nails recently?
If you re-create this look, make sure you tag @So_Nailicious in your photo on Instagram or Twitter. I’d love to see your work!
