After writing the St Patrick Day Special I couldn’t help doing St Patrick nails myself. My friends from Ireland are some of most welcoming and unpretentious people I’ve met in my life. So in celebration of all things Irish, I decided to pay homage to the land of great people, U2, James Joyce, Guinness and four leaf shamrock.
For these nails I opted for a traditional 3 leaf shamrock design. As that’s what Saint Patrick used to explain doctrine of the Holy Trinity the the Irish. The main colours of course are green and gold which symbolize shamrock and well… gold.

- Apply 2 layers of green polish on all fingers except ring finger. Paint ring finger in gold. Without waiting for your nails to dry, proceed to the next step.
- Draw shamrock on your middle finger using nail art pen in gold. To do that draw 3 heart like shapes for leaves and then from the middle of the shamrock draw the stem.
- Repeat step 2 but invert the colour combination. i.e. draw a green shamrock on your gold painted ring finger.
- Apply 3 coats of glitter on thumb, pointer and little fingers. Finish with 2 layers of fast dry top coat on all nails to smooth your nail art. Let it dry.
Done!
Note #1: if you don’t have nail art pen you can use a detailing nail art brush or even a toothpick to draw shamrocks.
Note #2: As an option you can draw gold shamrocks on all green nails instead of adding glitter top coat and cover the gold nails with gold glitter.
Used: Revlon Posh, Glam by Manicure 3 in 1 nail art pen in Gold, Orly Mermaids Tale (as featured here), Essie To Dry For.
