I love bright colours so First Blush, a delicate pink shade from the new Orly Blush collection, caught my attention immediately. It’s such a nice alternative to red nails, it’s very femme but without the fatale component to it. It’s office friendly too and the perfect nail polish for a first date or any other romantic occasion. Valentine’s Day for instance.
When deciding on how to present this polish I couldn’t resist opting for a delicate Valentine’s Day inspired pattern – outlined love hearts on nail tips. Double Love!
How-to instructions below.
HOW TO:
- Paint one coat of nail polish on all nails. Let it dry for 5 minutes.
- Work one nail at a time: Paint the second coat of a nail polish, then using a dotting tool, first dot silver nail polish and then inside that add a smaller drop of color. Drag a needle through both colours – this needle nail art diagram illustrates the process really well.
- Repeat on all nails, let it dry for a few minutes and seal your design with a top coat. You can make as many love hearts on each nail as you want, just make sure you work quickly or it will be difficult to drag the nail polish.
Used: Orly Nailtrition (base), Orly First Blush and Dare to Bare (from Orly Blush collection), Orly Shine (silver) and Essie Good To Go top coat. Wearing Silver Midi Ring.
How do you like these Double Love Valentine’s Day nails? Have you tried the needle dragging tecnique in nail art before? What do you think about Orly First Blush?
