Marble nails are probably the hottest nail trend of late 2015. It’s not entirely new (see my Marble nail art from 2014) but right now everybody from fashion designers to beauty salon goers want Marble nails!
So I tried some different techniques and different colour combinations and posted a sneak peek on the SoNailicious Instagram. Green marble nails were voted the favorite so I decided to try a full on manicure. Here’s the result.
It was pretty easy to do. The technique is based on drag marbling but with a bit different. If stars align (i.e. Joseph feels well enough) we might be able to film a couple different Marble nails tutorials. Photo tutorials aren’t as effective because to understand the technique you really need to see the movement and little tricks for creating layers like real stones. So let’s cross our polished fingers (and toes) and for now, enjoy the photos in both matte and gloss.
Used:
- ORLY Nailtrition – base
- Sea Siren Seeweed
- Sea Siren Motion of the Ocean
- Essie Good To Go
- Morgan Taylor Mattes A Wrap.
- SN 04 Slayer angular nail brush – to clean up
Wearing: Gunmetal Knuckle ring.
Have you tried Marble nails before? Do you prefer matte or glossy?
As always, if you recreate this Spikes & Lines Abstract nail art make sure you show me your work – tag it #SoNailicious on Instagram and Twitter, I’d love to see it!
