Bourjois is one of my favorite beauty brands. Not just the nail polishes but their makeup in general. There is something very chic about it and the quality has been always great. I still remember picking up my first Bourjois lipstick in London in 1995. In 2006 when I moved to another side of the world my Bourjois collection traveled with me amongst very few other necessities.
So when a little package wrapped in pink ribbons from Bourjois arrived to my office, I was very pleased. My happiness turned to sheer joy when I discovered 15 limited edition mini polishes created specifically to celebrate brand’s 150th anniversary inside! Each shade represents a milestone from within Bourjois’ rich history. Brand loyalty is one thing, but learning some of the 2 centuries of history behind this brand was fascinating.
So as a little personalised present from us to Bourjois, we created this delicate anniversary nail art. It’s done in the brand’s signature red shades including the 1863 Les Theatres shade – date of birth of Bourjois. As for the pattern, as much as I was tempted to draw a tiny Eiffel tower, I resisted easy cliche’s and created some stylised floral nail art. The aim was to create a unique, femine yet chic manicure to represent Bourjois’ brand values. The floral pattern was hand drawn so if you’re going to re-create this manicure, we suggest having your latte after.
Joyeux Anniversaire Bourjois!
