Shattered glass nails are the hottest nail trend of 2016. It’s such a cool and unusual style. Although it looks advanced, in reality it’s very easy to do. Just paint your nails, add small pieces of iridescent foil and seal it all with a top coat.

I decided to take the shattered glass nails even further. As a big fan of geometric patterns, I combined shattered glass elements with intricate line work. For the colour scheme, I opted for one of my favourite combos, white, black and neon pink. The pink polish harmonises with the iridescent shattered glass details (at certain angles, this foil looks pink) and balances the look of the manicure.

This Next Level Shattered Glass manicure, as you may have already guessed, is entirely hand-painted (except for the shattered glass details, of course). So if you want to re-create it, make sure you use your finest striping nail art brush.

Used: OPI Infinite Shine Alpine Snow, Color Club Peppermint Twist, Essie Licorice, Essie Good To Go top coat and SNB shattered glass foil.

Wearing: T-Bar ring.

I’m planning to film a few different Mixed Media nail art tutorials with this shattered glass foil and extra-wide striping tape. Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss them! Now that I’m finally back in the SoNailicious HQ (after the 3 months of renovations) I hope to get back on track with the nail art videos ASAP.

Now over to you!

Have you tried using shattered glass foil for your nail designs? Are you a fan of the trend or do you prefer more traditional nail art?

As always, if you try this manicure, make sure you show me your creations! I’d love to see you work – Tweet or Instagram me a photo with the tag #sonailicious.

– Maria, xx
