Nude nails with an inverted glitter gradient is an elegant yet feminine look that is as suitable for day as it is for night. In fact, I’m going to a business meeting today with this manicure. While glitter isn’t considered the most appropriate look for the work place, when worn in small doses on top of neutral or nude polish it looks very down to earth. Of course, should you wish to turn your manicure into more of a stand out look, just add one more coat of glitter on the entire nail and you’re done!

This one is a fail for me. The nude was too close to your skin color. Not a fan.

Nude nails are meant to be close to your skin colour and I actually think this manicure turned out well. But thanks for your feedback anyways.

Hi Victoria. Maria is correct, nudes ARE supposed to be close to the color of the skin. Hence the name. Not everyone likes this trend and of course everyone is entiltled to their opinion. But since she did the manicure the way a nude is supposed to be, I thought I’d share this. Here is an exert so you can understand this trend further. You may not like this look, but it truly is not a fail. It matches her skin tone wonderfully.

“Nude nail polish and color in general has been trendy for past several years. And it is one of the hottest trends for the Spring/Summer 2012 season. The models were spotted wearing nude nails at Rochas, Derek Lam, Giorgio Armani, and other shows. Nude is neutral and has a barely there look. To choose the right nude nail polish opt for the shade that is closest to your skin tone.

How To Choose Nude Nail Polish

The definition of a nude color in fashion can be quite confusing but the color is often described as the one that is closest to a wearer’s skin tone. Consider this when choosing a nude nail polish as well as pay attention to undertones. Since there are many different shades and hues in nude nail polish so try several different shades of polish before buying to find the best shade that comes closest to your skin tone.”

I think it’s a beautiful look even close to your skin tone and I think the nude colour is very chic. I’ll be trying this one out come fashion week.

I love this. How did you get the glitter to be so light? Using a paint brush? I have a hard time keeping the glitter gradients NOT gloppy..
