silver nail art for short nails

I’m a firm believer that regardless of how short your nails are there is always room for nail art. Some nail art even looks better on short nails than on long. So when, on a recent rainy day, I had to file my nails much shorter than planned* I decided to turn it into a fun mini-project. Every day this week I’ll be posting a new nail art idea for short nails.

Let’s start with this simple silver nail design. All you need to get this look is a patterned (I used checkered) nail stickers and silver nail polish.

  1. Paint all nails with silver nail polish and let dry.
  2. Cut out two to three stripes (as pictured below) from the stickers and attach them to your nails.
  3. Seal the deal with a top coat. Top coat is essential! It’ll mask the sticker edges and make your manicure last longer.

Used:  Dior Miroir 001, stickers from eBay and Essie Good To Go top coat.

Wearing:  Dainty Midi Rings in Platinum.

So what do you think about the simplicity of this design? What do you usually do when your nails are short, wait till they grow back or keep nailing it on shorties?

P.S. If you re-create this nail design, I’d love to see you work – Tweet or Instagram me a photo with the tag #sonailicious.

* It was a nail extension that ruined one my nails and as a result I had to file all my nails short. If you’re following me on Snapchat (username: SoNailicious) you probably saw that horror photo.

  • Beautiful and so simple! Definitely going to try! Thanx so much ?

  • Christina

Hey why do you have a Pinterest option if you are going to report people for copyright for pinning a link to your site.

    • Hi Christina,

Yes, those pins were removed from our own Pinterest board too. Unfortunately, Pinterest doesn’t differentiate between legit pins and pins that were misused. A few of our photos were used by spammers to promote their sites. The originals links were replaced with some other sites that have nothing to do with SoNailicious.com. I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Just to let you know I work really hard to create all this nail art, put a lot effort in photography, so everyone can enjoy it. Hope this clarifies the issue and you’re welcome to pin as much as you like from SoNailicious.com!

      Thanks, Maria
