Hello from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (aka MBFWA) 2016! It’s my 5th year at MBFWA and as usual, I’ll be reporting directly from the front row to you on this year’s hottest nail trends. For our international readers, you’ll get to see Australia’s best designers and the nails they’re combing with their designs. To see all of this as it hits the catwalks in real-time, follow me on Snapchat (SoNailicious) and Twitter.
As for my nails on day 1, I created Futuristic Mirror Nails with silver bands to match my minimalist outfit. I complimented these with silver mirrored sunglasses on to re-inforce the silver theme. This look was inspired partially by these silver nails and partially by the silver striping tape itself. This brand new extra wide striping tape has just arrived and you can get it at the SoNailicious Boutique. It’s so versatile and unique, I couldn’t wait to do something fun with it. It caught the eye of the SunglassHut video crew so we did an impromptu collaboration where I modeled a brand new range of Miu Miu and RayBan sunglasses for them. I’ll link to the video so you can check out my modelling skills (and the mirror nails!) when it goes live.
HOW-TO: These Mirror Nails are super easy to create. Simply apply a silver foil nail polish, I used OPI Push and Shove, and then add the silver bands on your fingers. Please note, it’s a one day/night look only, i.e. it doesn’t last long. Well, it’s better to burn out than fade away!
I’ll be doing different nail designs each day to match my outfits so make sure you follow SoNailicious on Twitter and Instagram to be the first to see all the fashion week action and the most interesting nail art. Don’t forget you can see all the action live on Snapchat (username: SoNailicious). You’ll get exclusive back stage access with mini-videos and fun interviews.
If there’s something that you’d like to see from this year’s Fashion Week, let me know in the comments below! I’ll do my best to accommodate your requests whenever possible.
…and what do you think about these Mirror Nails, would you dare to wear?
